Nepal defeated UAE and levelled the series -as it happens

Nepal Cricket team is in UAE for ODI and T20I series this year. Nepal has already won the ODI series by 2-1 against United Arab Emirates. But after a loss in the first match, Nepal came back to match again after levelling the series 1-1 on the second match.

However, Nepal struggled with the runs like the previous match. In the first match, UAE set the target of 154 runs from 20 overs and Nepal restricted to 132/7. Nobody had believed that Nepal couldn't chase 154. But in the second match on February 1, Nepal bowled out UAE just for 107 runs in 19.2 overs. Abinash Bohra took brilliant 3 wickets; and Sompal Kami, Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC shared 2 wickets each.

Chasing 108 from 20 overs for Nepal also became hard after Paras Khadka dismissed for a golden duck in the first over.  Nepal lost Pradeep Airee eventually in next over and Nepal was at 9 for 2. Karan KC who came to bat at no.3  fell when Nepal's total was 35 from 6.1 overs. Nepal 4th wicket (G Malla) was gone at 7.6 overs and fifth (Sandeep Jora) while Nepal was at 46 runs in 10.1 overs.

Then Pawan Sarraf and Dipendra Singh Airee saved Nepal after a big partnership of 55 runs. Pawan Sarraf scored 18 runs from 25 balls before caught out at 19.1 overs and Dipendra scored 47 runs not out from 41 balls. Sompal came to the field after Sarraf was caught out but he didn't face any balls because Dipendra Singh Airee was on strike when Nepal needed 7 runs off 5 balls. Dipendra then hit a six and a four and Nepal chased the target in 19.3 overs. Nepal claimed 4 wickets victory and levelled the series 1-1.

Dipendra Singh Airee became the man of the match for his crucial runs that brought Nepal to the victory. Nepal will play 3rd T20I match against home team UAE on February 3 which determines the T-20I series trophy.
