ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifying Process

ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 is going to be held in India from October 2023 to November 2023. Total of 10 teams will be participating for 50 overs format cricket world cup. As a host, India is the first team which is qualified for ICC CWC 2023. Other 9 teams are decided based on different level of qualifiers. 

Different Level of Qualfiers for 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup: 
  1. ICC Cricket World Cup Super League
    Participants: 13 Countries (India (H) + 12 others)
    Qualification Berth: 8 (India (H) + 7 others) 
  2. ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 in Zimbabwe
    Date: 18 June to 9 July in Zimbabwe
    Participants: 10
    Qualification Berth: 2

    10 Teams of 2023 ICC CWC Qualifier will be decided as following: 
  • ICC CWC Super League: 
    Participants: 13
    Qualification Berth: 5 (Bottom 5 countries of Super League) 

  • ICC Cricket World Cup League 2: 
    Participants: 7 
    Qualification berth: 3 (Top 3 of ICC CWC League 2
     
  • ICC CWC Play off: 
    Participants: 6 
    Qualification Berth: 2 
    (Bottom 4 of ICC CWC League 2 and top 3 of ICC CWC Challenger League will play CWC Play off. )

For 2023 Cricket World Cup: 
  1. India (H)
  2. Afghanistan (CWC Super League)
  3. Australia (CWC Super League)
  4. Bangladesh (CWC Super League)
  5. England (CWC Super League)
  6. Pakistan (CWC Super League)
  7. New Zealand (CWC Super League)
  8. TBD (CWC Super League) 
8th team will be one of South Africa,  and Ireland. 

For 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe: 
  1. TBD (CWC Super League)
  2. Sri Lanka (CWC Super League)
  3. West Indies  (CWC Super League)
  4. Zimbabwe (CWC Super League)
  5. Netherlands (CWC Super League)
  6. Scotland ( #1 in CWC League 2 )
  7. Oman (#2 in CWC League 2)
  8. Nepal (( #3 in CWC League 2)
  9. USA ( #1 in CWC Play-off)
  10. UAE ( #2  in CWC Play-off)
(Note: 1st will be either South Africa or Ireland, excluding one which don't qualify as 8th team in 2023 Cricket World Cup. 

ICC Cricket World Cup Play-Off (in Namibia)
Top 2 Nations from this will qualify for ICC CWC Qualifier in Zimbabwe. USA and UAE qualified from play-off.

  • United States of America (CWC League 2)
  • United Arab Emirates (CWC League 2)
  • Canada (CWC Challenger League A)
  • Namibia (CWC League 2)
  • Jersey (CWC Challenger League B)
  • PNG (CWC League 2)
Bold team qualified for CWC Qualifier Zimbabwe. Jersey and PNG could not get ODI Status.
