AFC has drawn the 40 Asian countries into 8 groups in the round 2 prequalifying tournament (Asia Region) for FIFA World Cup 2022 which is going to be held in Qatar. From Asia only 4.5 countries will make the final spots for the world cup but Qatar has already been selected as a host nation. So remaining countries will have to come from Qualifyiny matches.
40 countries have been divided equally to 8 groups. There will be home and away match between teams within the each group.

Group A: China PR, Syria, Philippines, Maldives, Guam
Group B: Australia, Jordan, Chinese Taipei, Kuwait, Nepal
Group C: IR Iran, Iraq, Bahrain, Hong Kong, Cambodia
Group D: Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Palestine, Yemen, Singapore
Group E: Bangladesh, Oman, India, Afghanistan, Qatar
Group F: Japan, Krygyz Republic, Tajikistan, Myanmar, Mongolia
Group G: UAE,Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia
Group H: Korea Republic, Lebanon, DPR Korea, Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka
FIFA World Cup Qualification pathways from Asia:
For Asia, only 4.5 slots are available for World Cup 2022. From this round 2 match, 8 groups winner and 4 best runner up countries will play round 3 of world cup qualifying. From round 3, top 4 Asian nations will automatically qualify and fifth placed countries will play playoff against another one country from North America.
AFC has reported that including those 12 nations and another best 24 will play AFC Asian Cup 2023 which is going to be held in China.

Nepal is grouped along witn Australia, Jordan, Kuwait and Chinese Taipei. All counties after Nepal have higher FIFA ranking points than that of Nepal. Nepal had drawn Jordan to 1-1 at home after 9-0 away loss few years ago. Nepal had played 1-1 draw with Chinese Taipei recently. Also Nepal had stopped Kuwait with goalless draw. Thus, there is nothing impossible if every players show their potential.
If Nepal couldn't steal point from Australia, there is chance to be top 4 runners up so that Nepal can go to next round. All the best Nepal team.
